Bio

Eliza Frakes is a writer and performer working out of New York, Los Angeles, and Austin. Her plays have been produced professionally across the country and abroad, her films have been awarded by Wildsound Film Festival and BIFF, and her poetry and prose have been published in The Albion Review, Portland Review, and Rocksalt Journal. In 2024, her play “Certain Death and Other Considerations” sold out its west coast tour after a smash-hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe. She is the founding director of Nine Twenty Collective, an interdisciplinary production company dedicated to supporting early career artists in the generation of collaborative new media. Recent acting credits include playing “Maz” in Maz and Bricks at Corrib Theater, “Sarah” in the short film Murky, and “Julie” in Mother Sisters at The Echo. She is a playwriting MFA candidate at UT Austin through the Michener Center for Writers.
